Old Man with Whiskers

After lengthy discussion with my neighbor about this photo I thought I'd add a bit of explanation of why I like it. Painting, drawing, printing, sculpting self portraits even nude is seen as artistic effort while photographic self portraits are seen a vain and nudes as prurient. I do not agree with those ideas about photography. I make photographic self portraits because I am the only one I can get to sit for photos and nude because nude is no big deal everyone has a nude body and everyone was born with one. As for this photo I like the detail in the hand and face and how the rest just connects those areas. This was something I had seen in Rembrandt studies, prints and drawings.
